TV Chat Has a New Home

I've enjoyed talking about my favorite TV shows with you but with several blogs to maintain I'm finding this one is being neglected. I'm not happy with that outcome so I've decided to move my TV Chat discussions to What's That Buzz.

For those not familiar with What's That Buzz it was started in August 2009 as a product review and giveaway site. I've decided to make it more than just product reviews and now Buzz about all things of interest to me and that includes my beloved TV Shows.

I hope you'll join me at What's That Buzz so we can continue our discussions at the virtual water cooler that I enjoy.

Grey's Anatomy: The Music Event

Callie and Meredith on Grey's Anatomy
What was up with Grey's Anatomy tonight turning into a musical?  I did enjoy the music but it was a bit out there at times. It took me a few minutes to realize the singing was all in Callie's head and even though Owen and others were singing in the OR and everyone was ignoring them and going on with business as usual it wasn't like Singing in the Rain where the characters break into song at the drop of a hat. There was some reason for it.

Sara Ramirez (Callie) has a great voice. Did you know she's a Tony Award winning actress and got her start on Broadway. She's also done a few concerts and has an LP available on iTunes which she wrote several of the songs. Of course my husband thinks she's the most beautiful woman on the show and I have to agree.

And Then There Were Nine: American Idol Results Show 3-31-11

So, Naima and Thia are going home. I don't think they're good enough to go to the end but they didn't deserve to leave this soon. There are a couple of others that I feel should go home first. Paul comes to mind.

I was so excited when Paul was in the bottom 3. Don felt it was going to be Stefano based on Dial Idol's predictions but I'm the ever optimist and felt he was safe for at least one more week. I really think my heart sunk to my toes when Ryan told Paul he was safe.

What did you think about the duets, trios and quartets. I loved Scotty and Lauren and thought it was great they paired the 2 country singers together. Hearing Scotty sing a duet I realized how effortless it is for him to sing.  Lauren looked like she really had to work to get her voice out there but they were good together. James' band with Stefano, Ryan, Casey and Paul was pretty good and them singing together you really saw how soft Stefano's voice is compared to Casey and James'. And well, I don't think I need to tell you what I think about Paul.

I liked Fantasia's performance tonight but not too thrilled with Jamie Foxx and Will I Am but that's not my type of music. I also realized I'm not missing the mentors this year. It was taking up too much time with the clips of the contestants with the mentors and I feel they're getting better direction and consistency with the producers they're working with.

American Idol Final 11

Like most American Idol fan's I get frustrated with the show and swear not to watch again, but like most fans I always come back. This year was no exception as I felt it wouldn't be worth watching since Simon left. I did without Paula though she did bring some amusement to the show wondering if she was going to be drugged out with slurred speech and unusual behavior. The end of last season we had Ryan who wasn't quite acting himself but not Simon. How could the show ever survive.

When I tuned in the first show of the season to see Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez I was in awe. Not growing up an Aerosmith fan but hearing their music I really had no feelings about Steven Tyler at all and J Lo's music wasn't something I could pick out just by listening but they won me over.
